Situated 12 miles Northwest of Charing Cross, Harrow is a picturesque area in the London Borough of Harrow since 1965 even though it was originally a municipal borough of Middlesex. Like its neighbour Northwood, Harrow has a border with the next county of Hertfordshire.
Harrow is within easy reach of central London with good public transportation links, which makes it a popular and affluent commuter area. The area is served by the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and by the National Rail services of Chiltern Railways, London Midland and Southern Railways.
Harrow offers a good selection of reputable schools as well at all levels. John Lyon and Orley Farm private schools are particularly in demand. But Harrow School, which is an independent boys school, is probably the most well known; boasting famous students, such as Winston Churchill. It also is the home of the University of Westminster campus.
